Anthropic files to list, and Tokyo's chip shares jump
Anthropic filed for an initial public offering on Monday, seeking a Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT, NBC News reported. The filing shows a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first six months of 2026, and the company is aiming to list in mid-November. Yahoo Finance reported first-half revenue of $16.3 billion from the same document.
On Wall Street, all four main indices rose on Monday even as other markets wobbled, the Associated Press reported, with AI stocks still volatile and Brazilian shares falling sharply. Close to a third of S&P 500 companies report this week, and the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision later in the week.

Brent was $114.66 a barrel this morning, down $1.15 (0.99%), and WTI $100.84, down $0.92, Trading Economics showed. Its commentary pointed to talks between senior Saudi, Pakistani and Turkish officials and Iranian leaders aimed at reviving negotiations, and to shipments through the Strait of Hormuz running close to pre-conflict levels. Concern that high prices could cut into demand added to the pressure.
The US 10-year Treasury yield was 4.98%, just under 5% after three weeks of declines. Trading Economics said markets expect the Fed to leave rates unchanged this month and are watching for guidance on a rise in December.
